Desert Glory

We took a trip a few weeks ago into the desert here in California. It was a much needed escape away from the city and all it's noise. I found the desert to be a place of stillness and deep thought, reflection and meditation.  In the quiet and peace of the earth, one can clearly hear the voice of Heaven.  Here are a few of my pictures from the trip. xoxo

She Came upon an arid world
that few had ever trod
a desolate place bleakly rimmed
by mountains formed by God
O' Sun, your reign so clearly shines
all your kingdom set before me
never relenting eyes
smile upon me great king of the sky

Quiet Voice
I hear you
Ancient wind of hope
Blow softly thru
fragrant cactus flower envelopes me
I begin to float
Precious bloom
Ray of hope in this bleak desert gloom
Butterflies dance around you
praising your delicate story
how magnificent is your presence
and proof of His glory

This looks like such a peaceful trip! Okay, do you see a face or a skull in that one image? I keep going back to it for some reason?! Living in the midwest, you never think at trip to the dessert could be fun/beautiful/inspiring. Clearly I was wrong! Marija

@Bachman's Sparrow these are from two different deserts that we made it to. Anzo Borrego State Park and Joshua Tree National Park. They are not too far from eath other and are both amazing!
@Marija -yes that boulder looks like a skull! It is actually called skull rock I think.
