Don't Hide Behind Your Coat

Hey Love's, do you believe in you attract what you are? As in whatever you put out into the universe it comes back to you in some form? For instance, I find that in some circles women can be very snobby and judgmental towards each other.  Especially when you are treading in new territories, there can be major overly protective grounds and closed off attitudes.  I guess it's part of self confidence that we women have or don't have!  I was at an industry party this past weekend and the crowd there was new to me.  And well, some women were just flat out not nice. I find it so sad that women can be so jealous of each other instead of embracing and friendly.  In a city where looks are everything and many people are looking for the next big break, Los Angeles can be a tough place.  So although I felt like many of the women at the party were a little stuck up, I just put myself out there to be sweet and genuine. And you know what? I ended up meeting a sweet doll in the process. It was as if as soon as I made up my mind that I was not going to let the Debbie Downers ruin my night, and just be me, then that same energy brought me a like minded heart! And can I just do a shout out to my girls all over: Make the first move and say Hello to another doll when you are out in the world. Strike up the convo, be warm and friendly, SMILE! Trust me, that attitude is going to bring you so much more in life don't you think? And it's oh-so-glam ;) xoxo

Great pics I LOVE all of the leopard!!

*I will NEVER understand why girls/women feel the need be so awfully mean to one another. I'm always the first to smile at a girl or tell her how pretty I think she is, or how much I love what she's wearing. Unfortunately, I think when women lash out and are mean, it's just a sign of insecurity! I know, exactly what you mean and how you feel. I experience people like that on the daily, and it just flat out sucks. I live in L.A. as well, and when in the circles of the 'entertainment industry' it is unfortunately filled with a lot of pretentious, unfriendly people : / but I'm so glad the night turned out to be a good one love!!!! :)

Absolutely true. Women can be incredibly cruel to one another, and there's just no good reason. A smile, a genuine compliment and warmth always make other feel at ease, so it seems strange to me that women are so hesitant to return those gestures. But when you find a like-minded gal, take time to build that friendship-I hope she'll be a wonderful friend.

I totally agree that if you have a great attitude you will attract certain people to you and vice versa. I think its something that one needs to learn living in this city for exactly the reasons you mentioned.

People can be cruel to one another - even children have this trait. One must always look on the bright side and be warm, engaging and smile! Excellent post!;-)

I could not agree with you more. It can be tough out here and it makes me sad when women can't be happy for each other and celebrate one another instead choosing to be jealous and nasty. I'm so glad you put yourself out there and stayed true to who you are. Even if you wouldn't have found one person to respond peacefully, you still would have done the right thing, the kind thing.

Awesome post.

Carrie

Love the catty outfits, gorgeous! It's a shame really how women are no longer sisters to one another.

I always smile because you never know what people are going through deep inside. It can make a huge difference.
